This was the one perfect item I bought for my trip to Scotland. I am very happy with the fit, the way it looks on me, and the excellent way it performs. It is made very well and, although not really “packable”, I could roll it up nicely and put it in my small backpack. It is a little long on me, reaching just past my knees, but that is my fault - I’m not quite 5’1”.Wonderful raincoat… Very functional and looks nice enough to wear with work clothes. I am 5 foot, 2 inches and definitely needed the Petite.I ordered this for a Danube river cruise. It was the perfect coat for the fall trip. It looked more polished than a rain slicker in the cities I visited. Since then, it's been a great coat to wear to work in mid-fall and early spring.I bought this for an upcoming trip to northern Europe. I've ordered maybe 10 rain jackets so far trying to find the perfect one. This one is the winner, in spite of it's steep price tag. I was worried that it would feel short in the body since the tall size wasn't available, but it feels good. It's pretty true to size. I'm a size 14-16 (and 5'10" tall) and the XL regular feels good on me. I was hoping that this would have a cinch at the waist, but it actually looks pretty good even without one. It's not too boxy looking like I had worried about. I love that there is no mesh lining inside like some have, which feels scratchy to me. This inner lining is soft. I almost went with a few other jackets that I liked as well, but the mesh lining in theirs was going to bother me too much, and I didn't want to have to always wear long sleeves to protect my arms, so I ultimately decided on this one for comfort and cuteness. The pockets are good, with an inner pocket that holds my large iphone plus. The sleeves are long enough, and it has a decent sized hood, although I wish it were deeper to keep my face more protected. It has all of the things I was looking for. The purple color is amazing, and is one of the reasons I am keeping this one (along with the lining), even at the $149 price tag (which is $100 more than the other ones I have tried out). Hopefully it will hold up well in the rain! This jacket fits well and is actually waterproof. The hood could be better designed, however. It’s huge, blocks my vision, and tightening the drawstring just covers up my face. My husband has a jacket with a hood that adjusts in depth and has a little bill, which would make this jacket absolutely perfect. With this jacket I have to forget the hood and use a hat, which can blow off nd/or leak.I was looking for a new rain coat as my beloved LL Bean H2 off trench was showing age and no longer waterproof. I researched LL Bean, Columbia, Eddie Bauer and Land's End to find the next waterproof trench. I liked the styling of the Weather Edge trench and it looked like I could wear it casually or to work. The trench seemed to be a nice three season coat and if I ordered up a size roomy to accommodate layers. I'm a 1x and petite but wanted a little extra room so ordered a 2x. I can't attest to the waterproof ability since I have returned it. I expected more for $139, this trench doesn't deliver. I think the trench is overpriced. I don't mind paying a bit more for quality because I tend to keep my coats for a long time. The fit:1. Sleeves were 2 1/2 inches too long. There are no available adjustments such as snaps or Velcro to tighten the cuffs. I rolled them up but it was floppy and loose.2. The hips were snug. I was able to zip the coat and sit down but it didn't feel comfortable. The size chart states 2x hip (50-52) inches. My hips are 48 in. I had yoga pants on so it wasn't because I had bulky pants on.3. The hood is very deep and huge. I put it on and it covered my entire face to the chin. I couldn't see and the drawstring adjustable cord is useless. It just makes the opening smaller. I don't think Eddie Bauer tried this on human when designing it. A smaller size coat wouldn't help either. The hood size and design is gigantic.4. I have a small waist and in the picture the coat looks nipped in at the waist. I thought great, it's not shapeless. The trench is straight cut and the waist is not gathered as in the picture. If you don't have curves then this might be a good style but it did not look good.6. The length was good, it fell about 4 inches above my knee. I like a longer coat that protects me from the wind, rain etc. I have to say that is the only good thing about it.For me, this trench didn't fit properly and was a huge disappointment. It is for my wife, hope she likes it!My old Eddie Bauer raincoat was about 20 years old, too short and lined. I needed something longer and unlined, since my old coat made me sweat in the Winter (sweater-wearing time). I live in Oregon, where it rains a lot...year round. Having a lined raincoat was just too much. This new unlined trench coat is perfect. It is nice and thick (repellent wise), is almost down to my knees and has a great hood. The color is also beautiful (purchased eggplant). My only complaint is that it runs a bit small. Luckily, I had sized up one size when I ordered it, so no problem.
